This is Casual Greens, the place to land for anyone who longs to eat good-for-the-body food that tastes good but won’t keep you in the kitchen all day preparing it.  Here you’ll find recipes and tips that will make eating your greens easy, delicious, and the most normal, casual part of your day!

I grew up despising vegetables and refusing to eat them (sorry Mom and Dad!).  But as an adult I slowly taught myself how to cook and love them, and I’m here to share what I’ve learned and demystify the art of easily making vegetables taste good.

I’m so glad you’re here!

My goal is to help you eat good-for-you foods that are easy to make and delightful to consume.  Healthy food doesn’t have to be painful, time-consuming, or boring.  I’m here to make it casual!

When I’m not testing new recipes or reading nerdy nutrition books, I can be found spending time with my favorite humans, eating dark chocolate peanut butter cups, thrift store shopping, or listening to podcasts as I take long walks around sunny San Diego.

Becca and family by the ocean

I grew up in western Washington, building driftwood forts on rocky beaches, earning medals on the science team, and hating all fruits and vegetables except for green apples and potatoes!

Later in life, after having my first child, I wanted to learn to like vegetables because I thought it would help me lose weight.

It did end up helping me lose weight, but it did so much more than that!  I discovered that the more fruits and vegetables that I ate, the better I felt, physically and mentally.  I didn’t get sick as often, and I had better energy throughout the day!

I want that for you too!  There’s a lot of hype and confusion around eating well, but you really can’t go wrong by adding in more fruits and vegetables.  Let’s cook together and see how easy and delicious it can be!
